I quit chocolate last year. For a year. And HOORAY FOR ME!, because it was hard.
I’ve reintroduced chocolate to my life, and I’ve done it just in time. Just in time to welcome two very new, but very dear friends to my life.
Meet Teasers and Mint Twirl.
You read that right. Teasers and Mint Twirl. A chocolate bar made up of Maltesers, and a Twirl infused with chocolate’s best friend, mint.
BE STILL, MY BEATING TASTEBUDS.
But which is better? Meet our two contestants.

Teasers. YUM. Now a staple of my diet.
How best to describe them? Teasers taste like Bertie Beetles (which is strange, because they’re honeycomb-free). But the chocolate is smoother and plentiful, and there is more of everything.
There are ten separate ‘bubbles’, so you could have a few and then save the rest for later. At least, I assume you could. I’ve never been capable of ‘saving chocolate for later’, be it bar, block or mega-block, so I have no tips for achieving this. But if you’re capable of eating a bubble of pure joy, then ignoring the remaining bubbles of pure joy, then go for it.
Oops. Joy is a Cadbury thing, isn’t it? And so are bubbles. REVIEW FAIL. Oh well.
Back to Teasers. The Teasers’ final claim to fame? The best tagline of any chocolate bar, anywhere.
Are you ready? Here it is …
Ten Maltesers walk into a bar.
BRILLIANT.

Cadbury Mint Twirl.
Cadbury. Mint. Twirl.
Seriously. It’s like chocolate-makers have scoured the dictionary for the most perfect three words in the English language, and combined them in a single bar.
It’s crumbly. It’s minty. It melts in your mouth like a crumbly, chocolatey, toothpastey, floaty drop of heaven. Perfect for work, rest and play.
AAARGH. I used the competitors’ slogan again! HOW STUPID AM I?
(I’m ranting. I should eat a Snickers. I’m not myself when I’m hungry.)

The final verdict?
It’s a close one. But … the winner … is …
…
…
OH, COME ON!
…
…
It’s a one-point win in extra time to the Mint Twirl. (Extra time was a genius move on my part. More taste testing!)
But a word to the wise at the home of Mars: if you happen to release a mint version of the Maltesers Teasers bar, you’ll enjoy my custom for all eternity. Wouldn’t it be nice? (Dagnammit, I did it again!)
Have you tried the Teasers bar, or the Mint Twirl? What did you think? What’s your favourite chocolate?
You know my thoughts on this. I stand by my claim that mint chocolate is an abomination. I need my chocolate to NOT taste like toothpaste, thank you.
And I reeeeaaaaaally want one of those Malteaser Bertie Beetle thingies…
They are SOOOOOO GOOOOOOOD. You ALMOST redeemed your mint choc-hating faux pas with this statement. Almost.
Who even ARE you. I feel like I don’t know you anymore. Mint choc is the BOMB.
I know, right? What is UP with that Zilla chick?
YES!!!! I am so with you on this!!! Mint needs to say away from anything that isn’t toothpaste, chewing gum or roast lamb (and even the roast lamb is cutting it fine!)! Say NO to mint chocolate!!!
You know what, I’m okay with this! The more people who say no to mint chocolate, the more there is for me!
Bahahaha I’m not a huge fan of mint with chocolate but then again, I’m not a fan of chocolate really. But I would pick the teaser.
Fair call. It is GOOD. The Teasers bar might just convert your chocolate thinking.
I like caramel so twix or boost for me.
YUM. Good choices. Although, after a year without chocolate, a Boost is too much for me. DEATH BY SWEETNESS.
>sobbingsobbing<
I’m so sorry! x
Mint chocolate bubbly bars are my manna from heaven. Must try the twirl!
You must. You really must.
Mint Twirl, very similar to Cadbury Mint Bubbly! Yum, I LOVE pepperment chocolate! After dinner mints are my favourite thing EVER. Not so much a fan of Maltesers though, you made the right choice! #TeamIBOT
I had a Teasers bar this morning, and now I’m having a Mint Twirl. Definitely just a chocoholic again now, rather than a recovering chocoholic!
Hmmmmm don’t think I could do the mint twirl – but I do love Maltesers – so happy to give that little bundle of yum a go next time I’m at the supermarket xx
It’s on sale at Coles at the moment!
I’m with Zilla; mint chocolate is not my favourite thing.
I may have just eaten have a bag of raspberry licorice bullets, though. I’m currently trying the whole ‘don’t eat the whole bag thing.’ I’ll let you know how I go.
I can’t, so I don’t buy bags or blocks anymore. Just bars. Still need to cut it out altogether, I think. I felt so much better when I didn’t eat any chocolate.
Oh the cadbury mint twirl sounds delicious. My parents went to the cadbury factory last year and they had family blocks for $2!!
$2?!?!?!?!?!?! OH. EM. GEE.
MINT TWIRL!? MINT TWIRL? How did I not know about this?!
You do now! GO GO GO GO GO GO!
I’m trying to lay off sugar at the moment, but I did notice those mint twirls in the supermarket. I might treat myself this week. Mint + chocolate + me = best friends 🙂
Can I join in and be best friends with you all too?
Now I’m not a fan of mint mixed with chocolate so my vote would have been with Maltesers for sure. I love that melt in your mouth moment when the bubbles give way for full tongue absorption.
It’s pretty darn special!
Hmmmm! I remember reading you’d given up chocolate and thought – this lady is whack!! But I am laying off the chocolate for a while and it’s surprizing it can ACTUALLY be done. Reckon I might have to flirt my affections to chocolate again come Easter time because…it would be rude not too really!! I’m loving the sound of BOTH of these bars, but I will not be seduced! haha! I’ll let you know when I do!! xx
WHACK, YO! Good for you. x
Teaser all the way baby. Especially if it tastes like Bertie Beetles! I’m gonna have to let my Mum know, it’s a long time between Easter Shows (and Bertie Beetle showbags)!
IT IS SO GOOD. Have you had one yet? Did you love it? DID YOU LUUUURRRRVE IT?
