10 things about me

February 20, 2014 By Emily 26 Comments

1. I love chocolate. (There, I finally said it!)
2. My favourite book is April Fool’s Day. (Have you read it?)
3. I play the piano and I like to sing.
4. I really hate losing. At ANYTHING.
5. That’s why I don’t really like Pictionary.

I also recommend yelling at your teammates.

6. I’ve read the entire dictionary.
7. I’m more than a little bit accident-prone.
8. But somehow, I’ve only ever broken one bone.
9. I always like to be on time.
10. I also like to write in rhyme!

Thanks to The Lounge for prompting this post. I’ve linked up at Musings of the Misguided to share ten things about myself.

What ten things can you share about yourself? Do you like Pictionary?

Yes, I thought it was about time I came clean! And if you saw the size of my dictionary, you’d be more impressed. WORDS. SWOON.

Well, just the word entries. I didn’t read the preamble-y pages i-xxii. Well, some of it.

I am against pictionary as well. I love that auto correct wanted to change pictionary to dictionary. I also love that you have read the dictionary. I may be a little jealous. My dad also read the dictionary.

I cannot draw. I hate to lose. Pictionary is a game that involves drawing. The conclusion is inevitable! And do it. Read the dictionary. A letter a night. You’ll be done in less than a month!

You sure do rhyme well – and WOW to reading the entire dictionary, I tried it but then think got distracted. I know you LOVE chocolate! Pictionary is great for a drinking game. I’m also a stickler for time x

Pictionary as a drinking game – I like it. Because I rarely drink now, and it might make everyone else play worse! BRILLIANT.

Read the entire dictionary?? Wow! I tried when I was younger but gave up after a few pages 🙂
Oh and I’m not a fan of losing either…too competitive. Enjoyed learning some things about you…

Try again! It’s fun. You get on a roll. Gearing myself to read the Historical Thesaurus of the OED now… and thanks!

I love Pictionary. My son will either colour in the thing I can’t guess or redraw the exact same thing. He never wins…

I love the rhyming. I am accident prone and have the worse coordination ever but have only ever broken my toe. And reading the whole dictionary? That is dedication!

I’ve ALMOST broken my toe. So, so close. But I have actually broken my thumb. The week before my year ten netball grand final. GUTTED. (Clearly. I’m still not over it!)

Thanks! It sounds more impressive than it really is. It’s like reading a text book for uni.

Why did you read the entire dictionary? I am full of admiration but am trying to figure out… why? Did it have a good surprise ending?

Just to know the words. And remind myself that language is constantly changing. It was interesting to see what’s still in there and what hasn’t made it yet.

I loved April Fools Day. I just finished reading his last book Jack of Diamonds last night and it was a bitter sweet. I teared a up little reading the acknowledgements at the end of it too.

Thanks for linking up with us at The Lounge!

I haven’t read that one yet. I actually haven’t read many Courtenay books – I loved April Fools Day, then was disappointed by the next few I read and so gave up for a while. Might try JoD – thanks for the tip!

I haven’t read April Fools Day! Will look into getting it as I need to start loading more books on my Kindle.
And to reiterate what Pinky said, “Why? Why the entire dictionary?” 😉

Definitely get it. Or you can borrow my threadbare copy if you like! (I will want it back though…)

And I respond with “Why not? Why not read the entire dictionary?”
