Regular readers may have noticed a few changes here at You learn something new every day.
I’ve been changing this. Updating that. Altering this. Tweaking that.
And it’s been anything but a holiday.
I’ve been working on these changes for a while. But procrastinating when it came to implementing them. This wasn’t ready. That was going to take a while. I didn’t know how to do this yet. That wasn’t perfect.
I seemed to have forgotten my very first lesson: You have to make things happen.
It’s all very well to have grand plans and brilliant ideas. But until you actually DO something, that’s all they’ll ever be. And it took this post from Essentially Jess last week to remind me of that fact.
So what’s changed here? Some cosmetic things. Some functional things. And (gasp) I’m joining the world of social media. You can now find me on facebook (where I’m wearing ‘P’ plates) and twitter. Where I have most definitely still got my ‘L’ plates on. Please forgive any tweet mishaps in these early days. (I think I was born in the wrong generation.)
Stay tuned for more changes over the coming months, including a guest post-filled bloggy break when I welcome my second child to the world.
Hmmm, welcoming my second child to the world. Another example of why a change isn’t as good as a holiday.
More rewarding, though. See you soon, little man.
What do you think of my new bloggy home? Any twitter tips to share?
And what do you think: is a change as good as a holiday?

Hello there, the blog looks very frash and v well laid out too. Hello, just popping in this rainy afternoon from a laptop, I find the mobile devices I usually read blogs on too hard to comment from.
Anyway, just wanted to say hello and say all best wishes with your second, a change that certainly won’t be as good as a rest – better!

Thanks Seana. Still making tweaks here and there, but appreciate the positive feedback!

TWITTER AND FACEBOOK!!! I’m so excited. I’ll come and hold your hand. I”m just too slow to be a good blogger. I’m across everything social media-wise but my life is so hectic I can’t stay up with it all, and my blog is an un-cosmetic mess! I do love your makeover – tres chic!

Lovin the new look Em!
I cannot believe you’ve finally joined the world of social media. Welcome! Twitter is so fast, I can barely keep up with it. I read once that Twitter can feel like you’re at a party standing in the corner talking to yourself. And yes, in my experience, it does feel like that! hehehe. Have fun x

Oh good, I’m not the only one who feels that way about Twitter! Thanks Kelly x

Thanks Lisa! And excellent Twitter finding. Still adding some things to this page to make twitter/facebook/etc easier to find. Slow and steady…
