Kids can be adorable

November 30, 2012 By Emily 11 Comments

I can read your minds. “Another post about Ashleigh being cute. ENOUGH ALREADY!”

But don’t sigh. Don’t groan. Ashleigh may appear in this one, but the star of today’s little recap is someone I don’t even know. I met him at the train station this morning.

He inspired the following play. I think I’ll call it ‘Spidermanboy’. Enjoy.

Act I Scene I

Location: local train station
Ashleigh points to a boy in a Spiderman costume, complete with mask

Ashleigh: Mummy, who is that?
Me: Ashleigh, I think that’s Spiderman!
Ashleigh: Spider… where’s Little Miss Muffet?

(pause so audience can acknowledge awwwwdorable moment number one)

Boy removes Spiderman mask

Spiderboy: I’m not really Spiderman, it’s just a costume. I can’t fly.
Me: Oh! Well, you look just like him.
Spiderboy: (elaborate sigh) I know. Lots of people say that. It must be very confusing.

(pause so audience can acknowledge awwwwdorable moment number two)

Announcement comes over the PA system.

Me: Here comes the train!
Spiderboy’s mum: Let’s go up to the front of the train.
Me: Good idea, there’s usually more room up there.
Spiderboy’s mum: No, that’s not why. Tell the lady why we sit at the front, honey.
Spiderboy: We have to tell the driver that I’m not really Spiderman in case something bad happens.

(pause so audience can acknowledge awwwwdorable moment number three)

End Act I Scene I. And, in fact, the entire play.

Take your bows, Spiderman and Spiderboy.

The real Spiderman.

Cute! Must be so annoying for little Spiderboy to have to explain himself all the time to those silly adults!
And as for all your ‘adorable Ashleigh’ posts – I can’t get enough of them! She is very, very cute and she makes for excellent reading on this blog. I love reading about her!
