Remember earlier this week ? When I went on and on (and on and on) about my internet connection?
Well, I’m still excited. It got me thinking about how far we’ve come with technology.
I mean, seriously. I’ve got a modem plugged into the wall. And that’s it. It’s not plugged into the computer, or into a phone line. It’s just sitting there. And it’s doing its job.
And life is grand.
I remember my university days (in the early noughties for those of you playing Guess My Age! at home), when my brand-spanking-new-oh-so-modern phone allowed me to call, text or play Snake. The end.
I remember my high school days, when connecting to the Internet meant making sure that nobody needed the phone and it took ten years hours minutes to send an email.
I remember my primary school days, when we didn’t even have a computer.
And before that? Long before that? What of technology then?
So… I started singing. It’s been a while since I’ve done that around here, so here it is. I’ve taken my favourite songs by my favourite band – songs that pre-date the modern internet by FOR-EV-AH – and butchered them updated them for the internet age.
You know you’re onto a good thing when it inspires a song rewrite. Check out my review of Vividwireless for more details about an internet connection that will make you want to SING!
