Dreams

September 16, 2014 By Emily 32 Comments

I look at you
Young, innocent and smart
And I don’t know where to start

With what I wish for you as you grow
There’s just one thing I know:

I hope that you’ll be happy and content
Live your life with purpose and intent

I could wish you sporting prowess
Victory and success

A glamourous career
Fame and fortune, year on year

I could wish you friends and love
A guardian angel watching from above

But I just hope you know yourself
Don’t follow the crowd
Be yourself, whether that’s quiet or loud
Stand proud

This is my dream for you
And sometimes – just sometimes – dreams come true

Beautiful as always Em. I think that’s what everyone wishes for their kids…..followed a close second by “become a Dr!” 😉

Aww so cute! The other day my daughter told her brother he couldn’t wear nail polish and it annoyed me, why not? I told her the next day that girls and boys could do and be and wear whatever they wanted to!!

I saw the post that followed that thought! My boy loves nothing more than brushing my hair. I love it!

Beautiful words for your kids. I think we all hope that our kids get everything they dream for, regardless of how outlandish it might seem to us.

True. The things that are worth having, anyway. My daughter’s not getting a pony anytime soon!

I expected to read your dreams for you, so wanted a sticky beak. Instead I was swept away by love for your children. xx

Not sure about glam. I think I’m jumping on Woogs’ #comfywomfy movement.
