Goals for 2014

January 16, 2014 By Emily 14 Comments

I started to write my goals for this year:
What I want to achieve in my life and career.

The list got long. It got a little scary.
The purpose suddenly seemed contrary.

I chucked it out. I started again,
Shut down the computer and picked up a pen.

Wrote a few lines – just kept it short –
Then distilled it all to a single thought.

—

Have more, own less
Play more, groan less

Laugh more, cry less
Say “wow” more, “why” less

 Write more, plan less
Read more, scan less

 Speak more, text less
Now more, next less

—

Enjoy most days; endure the rest,
And know that I am doing my best

—

Each month, I receive a writing prompt as part of a link-up called Writers Reveal. This post was inspired by the prompt ‘goals for 2014’ from Becky at Imagine! Create! Write!

What are your goals for 2014?

have more.. own less, actually.. all of them! I was trying to pick a second one silly me.
also to make all my gifts this year as I can completely personalize them instead of buying something.
